Despite its phenomenal success across Europe, GOTD is yet to make its mark in Asia… a gap that is soon to be filled. GOTD is based on the latest scientific studies concerning how the brain works – and how we actually can learn new things in the most efficient way
A typical GOTD lesson consist of a couple of simple steps:
- There is always a clue for the students to try to solve (perhaps together with their parents) before the micro lesson. The clue is given to them the day before, as pre-thinking is a proven way to enhance learning.
- The following day, the teacher presents the actual micro lesson to the class, following some GOTD principles:
-Always short (around 8 minutes for maximum focus)
-Based on storytelling (not just facts – more like a “fairytale of facts”)
-Always ending with a wow – an extra jaw-dropping fact! - The final step focuses on retelling. Students are encouraged to retell parts of the GOTD lesson to their parents in the afternoon to create “a circle of learning” (retelling from memory is ranked as one of the most effective ways to learn).

There is also a new international study from University of Southern Queensland, Australia, where professor Melissa Fanshawe and her team have found many significant benefits while using GOTD in the classroom.
